Lori Ideta, University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa interim vice chancellor for students, has been recognized with the 2017 Fred Turner Award for Outstanding Service from NASPA Student Affairs Professionals in Higher Education. The equivalent of a lifetime achievement award, NASPA honored Ideta for bringing honor and dignity to the student affairs profession. She was honored at the 2017 NASPA Annual Conference in March.

As interim vice chancellor for students, Ideta leads the student affairs division, which includes the Office of the Dean of Students, Enrollment Management and Student Equity, Excellence and Diversity. She has also served as associate vice chancellor, dean of students and faculty specialist at UH Mānoa.
