On Friday, December 11, 2015, sixteen students were recognized for their achievements in successfully completing the Long Term Care Nurse Aide Program at Kapi'olani CC. Of the sixteen students who graduated, two were females on active military status. Another student has been accepted into the Advanced Degree in Nursing (ADN) program, and two students are applying for the Practical Nursing Program which begins in summer 2016.

Patricia O`Hagan, Dean of Emergency Medical Services, Health Sciences and Nursing commented that this is a very unique and special class. She has no doubt that once passing their certification exams, every one of the graduates will be hired. The demand for their training and services make them highly desired professionals.

Carl Hinson, Director of Workforce Development at Hawai'i Pacific Health said, “I am impressed with the standards that Kapi'olani Community College has built into its CNA program. It leaves me no room to doubt the quality and level of performance of each graduate. They entered the program with an interest and they completed the program with a desire and commitment to deliver extraordinary patient care. If I could, I would hire every graduate at the end of every program.”

For all the graduates, it was a moment of pride and accomplishment. For the families, it was promising to hear about the job opportunities that are available and which were extended to the graduates by recruiters from Hawai`i Pacific Health and Homecare Solutions.

Congratulations, graduates!
