The Annual Dr. N.H. Paul Chung Memorial Lecture and Luncheon will feature Marty Mitchell, partner and chief marketing officer, Bodden Partners in New York on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Mitchell will share his experiences on building successful tourism campaigns and the impact of seismic demographic and psychographic shifts in travel as we know it today. This annual event is sponsored by the Pacific Asian Management Institute (PAMI) at the UH Mānoa Shidler College of Business.

Mitchell has decades of experience as a marketer, mentor and teacher and has held executive positions in four advertising agencies, where he worked on numerous Fortune 100 accounts. In the tourism area, he has represented clients including New York State, Israel Ministry of Tourism, Travel (NY Times insert), Turning Stone Resort Casino, Howard Johnson and Waldorf Astoria. Mitchell was part of the team that created the “I Love New York” advertising campaign. He subsequently built and managed the infrastructure and business development for the New York State Tourism Agency. With Mitchell’s experience and success in marketing New York, he was asked to work with renowned New York venues and organizations such the as the NY Yankees, NY Rangers, NY Knicks, Madison Square Garden and Radio City Music Hall.

For over 20 years, Mitchell has managed the advertising for the Israel Ministry of Tourism’s $30 million budget across the United States, Canada, Brazil and Mexico.

Mitchell is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross and holds an Advanced Management degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Business. He also serves as a member of the Mayor’s Building Trade Council of New York and the World Futures Society.

The Dr. N.H. Paul Chung Memorial Lecture is held annually and features distinguished individuals discussing an important international topic of interest. This event is held in honor of Dr. N.H. Paul Chung who founded the Pacific Asian Management Institute (PAMI) in 1977 with the energetic vision of creating a “knowledge center” for international management. For over 35 years, PAMI has brought people together from countries around the world to study and exchange ideas on international business and related issues.
