There’s fresh flexibility in the applications process at the UH Law School.

While the priority review deadline was February 1, all applications submitted after that date before July 7 for entrance in the fall of 2015, will be considered. As a result, applicants who take the June LSAT can be eligible to meet the July deadline.

“The application date is a small factor of the many that the Admissions Committee considers in reaching decisions for admission to our Law School,” said Admissions Director Elisabeth Steele Hutchison. “We are primarily concerned with an applicant’s academic preparedness and their passion for law school.”

The June LSAT will be administered in Hawai‘i on June 8 and the deadline to register for it is May 1. (There is a late registration date of May 13.) For more details, go to: http://lsac.org/jd/lsat/test-dates-deadlines

According to Hutchison, the William S. Richardson School of Law is like many other American law schools that now accept students on a rolling admissions basis.

Richardson’s rigorous standards include the evaluation of the student’s undergraduate GPA, LSAT scores, with particular attention paid to the essay, letters of recommendation, and personal statement.

Law School Dean Avi Soifer noted that, “Unlike many law schools, we are fortunate to be able to personalize the legal education we offer. We therefore can and do pay particular attention to the kind of person who is applying for admission; we are small enough to be able to look beyond the so-called objective numbers involved.”
