UH Saves Day expands financial education event over two days

Over the course of two days, UH Mānoa will join thousands of Americans in a national campaign called America Saves Week by hosting its fourth annual UH Saves Day on Wednesday, February 27 and Thursday, February 28, to impart financial literacy to students, faculty and staff. There will be interactive exhibits, a scavenger hunt and a game show competition testing four student teams on financial concepts.
 
The expo will run on Wednesday, February 27, from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at Campus Center. Attendees are also eligible to participate in a scavenger hunt from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at Campus Center by visiting with exhibitors.
 
The LifeSmarts Challenge will be held on Thursday, February 28, in the Hale Aloha Courtyard from 5:30-6:30 p.m. The winning team will win two $250 scholarships. 
 
Exhibitors will include Bank of Hawai‘i, UH Federal Credit Union, First Hawaiian Bank, Hawaiian Tel Federal Credit Union, Capital One 360 Bank, various State of Hawai‘i Departments, AARP Hawaii, Better Business Bureau Hawai‘i, Hawai‘i Homeownership Center, Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Hawaiʻi, Internal Revenue Service, UHM Study Abroad Office, Financial Aid Services, UHM Student Parents at Mānoa and America Saves.
 
Event sponsors are the UH Mānoa Financial Literacy Program, UH Mānoa College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources, Cooperative Extension Service, Campus Center Board, Office of Undergraduate Education, Financial Aid Services, UH Mānoa Student Life & Development, Shidler College of Business and UH Mānoa Student Housing Services.
