HONOLULU – The Office of the Vice President for Research has appointed Leonard R. Gouveia Jr. as the new administrative and export compliance officer for the University of Hawai‘i (UH) System. He will be responsible for handling all export control issues including, but not limited to, matters that are subject to the U.S. Department of State’s International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Export Administrative Regulations (EAR).
Gouveia will be responsible for ensuring institutional compliance with all export control issues and will serve as the UH empowered official to file licenses for technology exports with the appropriate state and/or federal agencies.
