A UH Mānoa senior Scott Perske has been selected to serve on the 10-member National Leadership Council for the 2010-11 academic year. The appointment was announced by the National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS), an honor society for freshmen and sophomores.

Perske was inducted into the honor society as a freshman in Fall 2008, and has served as president of the campus chapter since. The senior majoring in World Comparative History and International Relations has participated in the International Scholar Laureate Program’s European delegation for Diplomacy and International Relations, completed a course study at Qufu Normal University in China, and ventured into Tibet with a traveling seminar on Chinese culture and economics.

Said Steve Loflin, NSCS executive director, “The members of the National Leadership Council were selected based on their dedication, service, and commitment to the organization. Scott has demonstrated leadership, academic excellence, and community involvement at UH Mānoa, and I’m looking forward to watching how he will shape the NLC.”
