Dancing Green
Dancing Green
There’s a movement underway at University of Hawai’i at Mānoa’s Department of Theatre and Dance as passionate and talented dance faculty and student performers present a dance concert unlike any other. "Dancing Green" takes sustainability to the stage with dances created on environmental themes.  Thrift and elegance can indeed go hand in hand!

The annual dance concert, choreographed by UH faculty and guest artists with performances by UH Mānoa students, will be performed at Kennedy Theatre’s mainstage on March 11, 12, 13 at 8 p.m. and March 14 at 2 p.m. A free pre-show chat is scheduled for Saturday, March 13 at 7 p.m.

“Dancing Green” is inspired by the desire to make eco-friendly changes that positively impact the environment and reduce waste, while creating unforgettable dance works on environmental themes, proving that thrift and elegance indeed go hand in hand. All costumes in “Dancing Green” are made from re-cycled materials, and the concert is paperless. A variety of community and campus organizations are participating to create a memorable and ecologically responsible concert to treasure.
