Jim Mitchell, senior storyboard artist at Illumination Entertainment, will share his knowledge during his lecture "Storyboarding Old School Art - Plugging In to the Now" at Kapiolani Community College on Thursday, March 11, from 7-9 p.m. in the ʻOhia building, room 118.
 
Mitchell is currently working on Universal's picture, "I Hop", starring James Marsden. He has also worked at Disney Feature Animation, Disney Imagineering, Sony Pictures Animation, and Rhythm & Hues Studios.
 
He has been a key writer, visual storyteller, and concept artist on animated features including: “Enchanted”, “Alvin and the Chipmunks”, “Everyone's Hero”, and “Curious George”. He has also worked on Disney theme park concepts, Pearl Jam music video, and digital game development.
 
Mitchell will also conduct a workshop, "Animatic - Digital Storyboard to Animatic" on Friday, March 12, 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at Kapiolani Community College’s Koa building, room 102. Reservations are required. Call 734-9382 or email ssussman@hawaii.edu.
