Organic farming authors to lecture at UHM campus
University of Hawaiʻi at MānoaRonald is a geneticist and professor in the Department of Plant Pathology at the University of California at Davis, as well as an elected Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Her husband, Adamchak, is an organic farmer, and the market garden coordinator at the certified organic farm on the UC Davis campus.
The event, part of a nationwide book tour by the authors, is sponsored by the UH Mānoa Chancellor‘s Office. Tomorrow‘s Table is published by Oxford University Press, and will be available for purchase at the book-signing.
According to the publisher, "Written as part memoir, part instruction, and part contemplation, Tomorrow‘s Table argues that a judicious blend of two important strands of agriculture—genetic engineering and organic farming—is key to helping feed the world‘s growing population in an ecologically balanced manner."
The lecture, book-signing and reception are free and open to the public. Tomorrow‘s Table will be available to purchase for $29.95. Cash and check (made out to Hawaiʻi Crop Improvement Association) will be accepted.
