University of Hawaii offers free eWaste disposal
University of HawaiʻiHawai‘i residents are invited to drop off their eWaste on Saturday, October 25 at one of six drop off locations on UH campuses on the Big Island, Kauaʻi, Maui or Oʻahu, plus Kealakehe High School in Kailua-Kona. Please visit http://www.hawaii.edu/ewaste for more information including drop off sites, hours of operation and a list of acceptable electronics items.
Public and private schools and universities, all City, County, State or Federal/Military branches in Hawaiʻi, small to medium sized businesses with fewer than 100 employees and non-profit organizations are asked to pre-register prior to participating in the free recycling event. Education & Government eWaste Disposal Days 2008 provides an opportunity for safe and environmentally friendly disposal of eWaste regardless of the manufacturer, free of charge.
All equipment collected will be processed in North America in an environmentally responsible way and recycled into commodity grade materials such as metals, plastics and glass. Recycling and disposal services are provided courtesy of Apple.
