Calling all chocoholics!
University of Hawaiʻi at HiloSavor sweets and spirits as the University of Hawaii at Hilo College of Continuing Education and Community Service presents master chocolatier Melanie Boudar‘s tasting tour of world-class chocolates and liquors.
This sweet and sensual pairing of gustatory ecstasy takes place Saturday, August 9 from 1-4 p.m. at the Volcano Winery and Crater‘s Edge Bed & Breakfast. Boudar will provide a brief history of both alcoholic beverages and chocolate and discuss how their distinctive flavors can complement each other and heighten the culinary experience. Boudar, owner of Sweet Paradise Chocolate and a soon-to-open shop in Kailua, Oʻahu, creates award-winning chocolate confections using exotic local ingredients such as jackfruit, guava and hot peppers.
Tuition is $45 with a $5 discount to Osher Lifelong Learning Institute members. Van transportation from UH Hilo is $8. Call CCECS at 974-7664 for registration and more information.
