Ann Nishimoto Joins UH West Oʻahu as Vice Chancellor for Administrative Affairs
University of Hawaiʻi-West OʻahuNishimoto is responsible for preparing legislative budget requests for all operating funds and acting as the university‘s legislative liaison for financial affairs. In addition, she oversees the institution‘s Facilities Long-Range Development Plan that includes the construction and maintenance of the new UH West Oʻahu campus in the City of Kapolei.
"I am very excited to be a part of the West Oʻahu ʻohana," said Vice Chancellor for Administrative Affairs Ann Nishimoto. "I look forward to doing all I can to make the permanent West Oʻahu Campus a reality and to enhance educational opportunities for Hawaiʻi‘s students, especially those in the Leeward area."
Before joining UH West Oʻahu, Nishimoto was the Facilities Planning Manager at Kamehameha Schools, Facilities Development and Support Division, where she was responsible for setting performance goals and determining operational requirements in the planning, development and implementation of program facilities and policies to support educational and asset development requirements at Kamehameha Schools. She also worked as a Finance Administrator with the State Budget and Finance Department.
A resident of Aina Haina, Nishimoto earned a bachelor‘s degree from Purdue University and a master‘s degree with a certificate in planning from the Pacific Urban Studies Program at the University of Hawaiʻi at Manoa.
