Honolulu Community College has been selected to be a Microsoft IT Academy Program Regional Center. Honolulu CC is among an elite group of only 12 institutions throughout the United States that has successfully obtained Regional Center status. As a Regional Center, Honolulu CC will provide program support to Microsoft IT Local Academies and administer the program through the Pacific Center for Advanced Technology Training (PCATT), its state-wide, high tech consortium of community colleges.

According to Jerry Cerny, the Microsoft IT Academy Program manager, it is an innovative training program for academic institutions and gives the tools to prepare students for in-demand careers as network administrators, technical support specialists, software and hardware
