Yehuda Bauer, pre-eminent Holocaust scholar and historian, returns to UH Manoa for fall lecture series

Hebrew University professor Yehuda Bauer will present a series of public lectures and on-campus seminars at UH Manoa through the month of October.

Bauer is the foremost international scholar of the Shoah, or Holocaust, and the author of a dozen books on this and related topics. He is currently a board member and serves as the academic adviser to Yad Vashem, the International Institute for Holocaust Research.

This is a return visit to UH Manoa for Professor Bauer. He was a visiting professor in 1992 and returned a few years later for a lecture series and to meet with students. He was also at Manoa in early 2005 for additional presentations.

His current series will cover the Holocaust and genocide, to include his latest scholarship and the work of others in the field. Public presentations will follow the schedule below. In addition, he plans working seminars for students in political science, history and at the UH law school.

All presentations are scheduled for Orvis Auditorium in the Music Department complex beginning at 7:00 p.m., and all are open to the public at no charge.
