UH West Oʻahu band hosts send-off concert before historic trip
University of Hawaiʻi-West OʻahuThe Nāulu Winds of the University of Hawaiʻi – West Oʻahu will make history as the first community band from Hawaiʻi selected to perform at the prestigious Midwest Clinic International Band and Orchestra Conference. This milestone marks the first time in the conference’s 76-year history that a community band from Hawaiʻi will take the stage before an audience of over 16,000 band directors, orchestra directors, and musicians from around the world.
To celebrate this incredible achievement and express gratitude to the community, Nāulu Winds invites the public to a special Chicago Sendoff Concert. The ensemble will perform its complete Midwest program and take the opportunity to recognize the many generous supporters and donors who made this journey possible. (The group is still accepting any additional donations to help defray the cost of the trip through the University of Hawaiʻi Foundation.)
