More than $370K raised to support Shidler college at 2023 Hall of Honor Awards

The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa Shidler College of Business hosted its 30th annual Hall of Honor Awards on October 26, at the Sheraton Waikīkī. The evening celebrated the outstanding achievements of five distinguished alumni and raised more than $370,000 in support of Shidler college. These funds support the Shidler College of Business Advancement Fund, furthering its mission to bolster student programs, scholarships, faculty research, alumni outreach and special programs.

The 2023 inductees are:

• Maura Mizuguchi, BBA ’83, chief accounting officer, Cetera Financial Group
• Diane S.L. Paloma, PhD, MBA ’99, president and chief executive officer, Hawaii Dental Service, and UH regent
• Matt Takamine, BBA ’98, executive managing director and captive practice leader, Brown & Brown
• Eric P. Tom, BBA ’81, former executive vice president and chief revenue officer, Teradata, and chief operating officer, International Game Technology
• Joseph Young, BBA ’98, managing partner, Deloitte

“This year’s honorees represent a truly diverse and remarkable group of individuals who have embarked on unique journeys in their professional careers,” Shidler college Dean Vance Roley said. “Some have chosen to remain in Hawaiʻi, actively contributing to positive change in our local community, while others have ventured to the mainland, where they’ve been able to share the invaluable lessons gained from their time at Shidler college. They embody the idea that a Shidler education can have a profound impact that extends far beyond our islands, and their accomplishments serve as a testament to the reach and influence of our college.”

Shidler alumna and 2014 Hall of Honor recipient Gina Mangieri emceed the event. Deloitte served as the presenting sponsor and Pacific Business News once again served as the media sponsor.

About the Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa
