“Hawaiʻi cuisine comes from all different walks of life from all different cultures and different things like that and how in tune he is with nature—it’s really inspiring to see somebody so close to nature and food.”

Kawai Almeida, Kapiʻolani CC culinary student (:10)

“My hopes and dreams for the future would be to be like them, own my own restaurant, have a farm and do farm-to-table and just gather the community together.”

Sheldon Simeon, Chef/Owner Tin Roof (:10)

“Go out there and support local restaurants, so that these students have a place to go on after culinary school.”

Francis Lam, Host, The Splendid Table (:05)

“It’s the idea that food does tell a story and when you are a cook, you can cook for a lot of reasons.”
