WHAT: The Mānoa Experience, the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa Preview Day, was hosted for prospective and admitted students and their families for the first time in-person in three years. 

WHEN: Saturday, April 2, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

WHO: An estimated 2,800 people attended the event, along with hundreds of UH Mānoa students, faculty and staff supporting the event and exhibits.  

WHERE: UH Mānoa, the flagship campus of UH’s 10-campus system. 

WHY: Prospective students and their families engaged with UH Mānoa students, faculty and staff and learned about the large variety of academic programs and campus activities while experiencing the beautiful UH Mānoa campus.

OTHER FACTS:

  • More than 130 different departments and programs were displayed along McCarthy Mall and Legacy Path featuring hands-on activities, campus tours, prizes, student performances and more. 

  • Attendees purchased their UH gear at the UH Bookstore and participated in a photo booth—Rainbow Warrior style.

  • Current students led walking tours of the campus including the Warrior Recreation Center, an engineering research lab and the new broadcast studio facility. 

  • The UH Pep Band performed along McCarthy Mall.

  • This was the first in-person Mānoa Experience since 2019 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • UH Mānoa is consistently ranked among the top 2% globally by major higher education rankings services.
