HONOLULU — BLACK ENTERPRISE (BE), a premier business and investment magazine for African Americans, has chosen UH athletics director Herman Frazier as one of the 50 Most Powerful Blacks in Sports, as featured in its March 2005 cover story. The list includes top administrators, decision makers in collegiate, professional sports and related industries.

"Although many superstar black athletes dominate their chosen playing fields, the true power in sports lie with the executives who work behind the scenes," says Alan Hughes, BE features editor.

Frazier is one of seven athletic directors chosen and one of eight included in the collegiate decision makers category. Other sports notables listed include: Isaiah Thomas, president of basketball operations of the New York Knicks; Donna Bryan, VP of business affairs of NBC Sports; Reggie Williams, VP of Disney Sports Attractions Inc.; and Michael Jordan, NBA Legend.

BE worked with various professional and collegiate sports organizations, industry insiders, and experts to determine the 50 Most Powerful Blacks in Sports. The March 2005 issue of BLACK ENTERPRISE is now available on newsstands. To view the complete list, visit www.blackenterprise.com.
