Eden in Love donates 270 bentos to UH Band

WHAT: The owners of the store Eden in Love gathered supporters to donate bentos to the entire UH Marching Band.

WHO: Eden in Love co-owner, and UH super fan, Bryson Dang made the request as a birthday wish.

WHERE:  UH Mānoa

WHEN:  Friday 8/30/19 practice

HOW: Bryson and his wife, Tanna, reached out to their shoppers from Eden in Love to help donate to his wish. 

WHY: Eden in Love regularly donates to causes or groups as part of their Eden for Good campaigns. This year, all of the company’s employees had a chance to make a birthday wish. The store gave shoppers the chance to participate by donating $10 to the Bentos for the Band and received 20 percent off discount on their purchases. They raised about $2,000. Jamba Juice heard about the opportunity and joined in the event. The bentos were from Tanioka’s Seafoods and Catering who was happy to give a discount after hearing the bentos were for the UH Band.

OTHER FACTS:

•  About 270 bentos were provided to the band.

• Assistant Band Director Gwen Nakamura is an avid shopper at the store and is part of the connection to how the band was chosen.

• Bryson is a UH super fan, having collected memorabilia since his days at UH Mānoa.
