To work – or to not work?

To work – or not to work? That’s the big question as taking the responsibility of being a full/part time student is already a lot on one’s plate.

If you’re looking for employment while being a student, there’s really two main options. The first is applying for an on campus job! This is a great option as campus jobs usually work around the student’s school schedule. You won’t need to worry about the commute as much as if you were to work off campus. On campus jobs allow for you to connect with fellow peers and staff on Mānoa’s campus. These campus jobs will either pay through the form of grants, federal work study, or regularly scheduled paychecks.

The second option is to find employment off campus! There are many businesses, organizations, and offices around Oʻahu that are always looking for help. Working off campus is a good way to network with others around the community as well!

Another option is to find employment through internships. Although, not all internships are paid, there are a few out there!
