Planning for Fall 2020

Aloha to our new UH Mānoa ‘Ohana,

The University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa is making plans for a return to campus for the Fall 2020!   We recognize the need to prepare, respond and adapt in an agile fashion throughout 2020 in order to support the university’s mission as we navigate the rapidly changing landscape ahead of us.

Of primary importance is the health and safety of our students, faculty and employees. With respect and compassion for our community, we will make our decisions based on the best available science. We will also be guided by our firm commitment to provide the best possible learning experience for our students, while continuing our essential world class research, scholarship and service to our home, Hawaiʻi.

We wanted you to know that we have initiated the planning process for the Fall semester and beyond. This process will be transparent and inclusive, and will capitalize on the extraordinary expertise and experience resident on our campus. We will engage with faculty, staff, administrators, and students, as well as government and industry professionals as appropriate and required.

We have a Coordinating Committee composed of Mānoa leadership, as well as several working teams that include:

  • Health and Wellness
  • Student Learning
  • Student and Residence Life
  • First-Year Students
  • Research
  • Business Processes
  • Communications
  •  Space Planning, Preparation, and Utilization

We are excited to welcome our newest Rainbow Warriors to campus this fall and see the return to campus an encouraging sign for our community and the State of Hawai‘i.  We remain committed to the safety, well-being, and success of our students. Mahalo for your patience and understanding as we navigate through this together.

Please continue to be well.
