Frequently Asked Questions

What is it like to participate in one of our studies?

Participating in our studies is easy and fun. We may ask you and/or your child to play board games, watch video clips, or play games on the computer.

Where are these studies held?

Most studies take place on the UH Mānoa campus. We will provide a map and directions in a confirmation email we send to you after you have scheduled a session with us.

When can my family come into the lab and participate?

We are usually open 9-5pm Monday through Sunday, however, we can also accommodate families who wish to come earlier than 9am or later than 5pm! Best way to schedule is to give us a call at (808) 956-0433 or email us at ispkidsstudy@gmail.com.

How long are the sessions?

Most studies involve just one visit, which lasts for about 30-60 minutes.

I plan to drive to my scheduled session. Will there be parking?

Good news, we will provide parking for you! When you arrive, we will hand you a parking pass to place on the dashboard of your car. You should not have to pay for parking when you arrive.

My child who is asked to participate has siblings. Can I bring them as well?

Yes! You are more than welcome to bring siblings. We will have lab personnel available to care for siblings who accompany you.

Compensation?

Your child will receive a small thank-you gift for participating in the study. In some studies, parents are compensated as well!
