ISP alumni RAs (Sai and Maria) starting grad school this Fall
We’re so excited to see our former RAs continue to graduate school. Sai Auelua-Toomey is starting the Ph.D. program in Psychology at Stanford and Maria Garay is starting the Ph.D. program in Psychology at Tufts this Fall. We can’t wait to see you all the great things you both will accomplish!

Congrats to ISP alumni Drs. Bellwood, Biddle, and Carpenter!
Lots of happy news to share. Dr. Bellwood will be starting a teaching-scholar postdoc at Linfield College this Fall. Dr. Biddle joined the faculty as a instructor at Leeward Community College, and Dr. Carpenter started as an Assistant Professor at St. Lawrence University. We’re so proud of all of you.

Dr. Pauker wins awards for teaching and research!
We’re a little late in posting, but Dr. Pauker ended the spring semester with a several exciting awards! She received the Regents’ Medal for Excellence in Teaching and the Psychology Department Award for Excellence in Research, both back in May.

Congratulations to Dr. Chanel Meyers on defending, department awards, and a new postdoc!
Chanel had a busy year. She won the department diversity and merit awards in Spring 18, defended her dissertation, and just started her postdoc at York University with Dr. Kerry Kawakami. The ISP lab will miss you Chanel!

Congratulations to Dr. Brey on her successful NRSA!
Dr. Brey’s started her NRSA funded by NICHD this past September. We’re excited about the new and exciting work she’ll be doing with us over the next couple of years. Previously Dr. Brey was funded on a NSF postdoctoral fellowship.

Maria Garay to Present a Talk at APS 2017!
Maria Garay, an ISP lab research assistant, will be presenting a talk at the 29th Annual APS Convention. The talk is titled “Check Yourself: The Malleability of Racial identification in Multiracial Individuals”, which will be part of the symposium “How Personal Beliefs Shape Our Individual and Collective Identity.”
