Hindi and Urdu are taught under the Department of Indo-Pacific Languages and Literatures (IPLL). Hindi and Urdu are placed perfectly in the spectrum of languages taught in IPLL – Sanskrit, Hindi, Urdu, and Arabic. This gives a rich experience for the students who wish to study the various linguistic, cultural, and historical aspects that create ancient and modern South Asia.
The Center for South Asian Studies also organizes numerous cultural and academic events to enhance the study of South Asia. It offers a number of scholarships for students and faculty to visit, study, and conduct research in India.
