Conference Venue

The University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo offers a distinctive setting for HARC 2027. Located on Hawaiʻi Island, UH Hilo is a public liberal arts and sciences university known for its strong sense of community, diverse student body, and deep connection to place, culture, and the Asia-Pacific region. The University highlights an educational experience “rooted in place, culture and diversity,” making it an especially fitting venue for a global scholarly gathering.

HARC 2027 will be hosted with the support of the College of Business and Economics (CoBE), a college that combines academic quality with a close-knit and welcoming environment. CoBE is AACSB accredited and prepares students for leadership in organizations serving Hawaiʻi and the Asia-Pacific region and offers strong programs in accounting and business administration.

Set on Hawaiʻi Island, UH Hilo offers conference participants the opportunity to experience one of the world’s most remarkable natural and cultural environments. The island is home to an extraordinary range of landscapes—from active volcanoes and lava fields to lush rainforests, waterfalls, and black- and white-sand beaches—all within a relatively short distance. This geographic diversity creates a unique setting that blends natural beauty with scientific, cultural, and historical significance.

Equally important is the island’s rich cultural heritage, deeply rooted in Native Hawaiian traditions and values. Participants will experience a strong sense of place that emphasizes respect for community, environment, and cultural understanding, elements that align closely with the collaborative spirit of academic inquiry.

Combined with UH Hilo’s engaged and welcoming academic community, this environment provides more than just a conference venue. It offers a setting that encourages meaningful conversations, fresh perspectives, and lasting professional connections. The result is a memorable backdrop for research exchange, intellectual collaboration, and personal enrichment.

Catered breakfast and lunch will be served at College of Business and Economics. On the evening of January 4 2027, the College of Business and Economics will host a reception.
