Author Instructions

Submission Guidelines

Please read through the following instructions before submitting your paper.

  1. Paper Presentation
    • Please prepare your initial paper using the APA style or Chicago style
    • Please do not include authors’ names or acknowledgments in your paper submission, as HARC uses a double-blind review process.
    • Papers that contain identifying information will be desk rejected.  
    • Be sure the paper contains original material. Papers should not have been published previously
  2. Submission
    • Please submit your paper as a PDF by clicking on EasyChair.
    • The paper submission deadline is July 31, 2026.
    • Each author can submit two papers at maximum. Submissions of more than two papers per author may lead to rejection of all papers.
    • Authors of accepted papers who fail to present their work and withdraw twice will face automatic rejection of future submissions. Starting with HARC 2025, we have rejected papers from authors of accepted papers who have not presented and withdrew their papers two times.
  3. Decision
    • Acceptance/rejection notifications will be sent out by September 21, 2026.
    • Please contact us at harc@hawaii.edu immediately if you don’t receive your notification by September 21, 2026.
  4. Revisions: In rare cases, a paper may require revisions for final consideration. In such cases:
    • Please resubmit the revised paper by clicking on EasyChair by October 1, 2026
    • Please contact us at harc@hawaii.edu if you haven’t received a decision regarding the revised paper by October 12, 2026.

Please Note

HARC provides participants with access to accepted papers prior to presentations to enhance discussion and engagement. These papers are shared through the conference program and are removed from University of Hawaiʻi servers after January, helping avoid potential conflicts with journal policies. By submitting a paper, authors agree to have it included and accessible within the HARC program.
