Pepeʻekeo teen with leukemia wished for tuition assistance at UH Hilo. Rancin’s Make-A-Wish came true!
A 17-year-old from Pepeʻekeo facing the challenges of leukemia wished for tuition assistance as a pre-engineering student at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo. The Make-A-Wish Foundation in collaboration with the Emerging Leaders Council Foundation and UH Hilo made Rancin‘s wish come true. “The maturity he shows by choosing college as his wish speaks well not only of him today but where he’s going to go in his future,” says UH Hilo Chancellor Bonnie Irwin. “It’s a bright day for both Rancin and for UH Hilo.”
