On September 14th, the Oahu 4-H Organization sponsored the Oahu 4-H Rally Day 2019 in partnership with the Second Saturday at Urban Garden Center. About 256 visitors and 30 volunteers attended and explored the different hands-on activities, interact with the Master Gardeners, participate in the Second Saturday Workshop, and participate in the 4-H mini workshops. Everyone had an enjoyable experience learning about the different 4-H projects and new projects such as wild bird fostering/rescue and a partnership with the American Kennel Clubs for a dog showmanship project.
The Clover J’s Livestock 4-H Club presented about their rabbit project during the 4-H Mini Workshops.
Friendship Magic 4-H Club shared their kitchen science project on slime science.
Farrington FCCLA 4-H Club taught youth and other 4-H members how to decorate a cookie.
Oahu 4-H has become “high tech” with their VR (virtual reality) goggles project. Youth participated in educational tours to Egypt, the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, and even to outer space!
