Welcome!
The Mānoa Educational Talent Search Program is a TRIO Program that is federally funded by a grant through the U.S. Department of Education (DOE). We provide no-cost college preparation services to students attending Waiʻanae and Nānākuli High School. We provide opportunities for students who face financial challenges and those who will be the first in their family to complete a four-year degree program, but all college-bound students are welcome to apply.
WHS Alumni Panel Presentation
The Waiʻanae High College & Career Center, Athletics, AVID Teachers, and METS Program partnered up to put on a WHS Alumni Panel Presentation. The presentation was open to AVID enrolled students and student-athletes. The METS Program invited alumni, Rudy Jay Keopuhiwa and Jaylen Gonzales. Both Keopuhiwa and Gonazales graduated in 2017 from Waiʻanae High School. Keopuhiwa went on to Whitworth University where he completed his Bachelorʻs in Computer Science and completed his Masters degree in Business Administration and now works as an IT Support specialist and System Administrator. Gonzales went on to Whitworth University where he completed his Bachelorʻs in Psychology and now works as a Direct Care Staff Supervisor. Both alumni shared their journey as student athletes coming from Waiʻanae and pursuing the college path.
“METS offers everything I can think of for future success of students. I’m not sure what else would make it better.”
