A conversation with Noe Goodyear-Kaopua, PhD, about national building through “movement-building.” Noe is a Kanaka ʻŌiwi born and raised on Oʻahu. Former HWST and HAW student, she is a professor of Political Science, specializing in Hawaiian and Indigenous politics. Noe’s recent publication is The Seeds We Planted: Portraits of a Native Hawaiian Charter School, and she is also a founding member of MANA Movement for Aloha no ka ‘Āina, a grassroots movement-building organization that works for Hawaiian independence.
