WHO CAN APPLY

Residents interested in living on campus during the summer must be registered for at least three units of credit for the duration of each six-week session that they  intend to live on campus. Combined session residents must meet these eligibility criteria for both summer sessions and be registered for a minimum 6 credits or more with 3 credits of courses taken during each summer term.

All students applying for UHM Student Housing must be in good academic, financial, and judicial sanding with Student Housing Services and the University of Hawaiʻi.
 
Failure to comply with these eligibility criteria may be grounds for immediate contract termination.

STEP 2

COMPLETE APPLICATION ONLINE - BEGINNING APRIL 1, 2024 @ 8AM

Once you have reviewed the above information, select an application below to begin the process. Complete the application along with the non-refundable $25 application fee. A UH ID number is required to apply.
Session I: May 19, 2024 – June 28, 2024
Session II: June 30, 2024 – August 9, 2024
Session III (Combined): May 19, 2024 – August 9, 2024
Varied Terms*: May 19, 2024 – August 9, 2024
*Varied Terms are for students who are in accelerated classes that do not fit the standard summer session dates.

STEP 3

MONITOR YOUR EMAIL FOR UPDATES ON YOUR APPLICATION

Summer housing assignments offers will be sent to your UH email.

Please note that housing offers will be sent from uhmsh@hawaii.edu. We encourage applicants to add this email to their contacts to minimize the possibility of messages being filtered by email clients.

STEP 4

SECURE YOUR HOUSING & NEXT STEPS

Prospective residents that receive an offer for on-campus housing must return a signed housing contract and remit full payment by the deadline indicated on their invoice.

IMPORTANT: Please be prepared to respond to your housing offer when it arrives. If you are relying on financial aid to help cover your housing costs, please apply as early as possible. Failure to return a housing contract and submit full payment will result in cancellation of your assignment offer. If you’re still interested in on-campus accommodations, you will need to reapply and you will be placed at the bottom of the waitlist.

Summer session 1 and combined 1/2 will be in Wainani; Summer Session 2-only will be in Johnson.

Only traditional double occupancy units will be offered during the summer.

No, Frear Hall will not be available for summer housing.

We will offer interim housing to those with confirmed summer contracts. More information regarding interim housing and eligibility will be emailed to students at a later time.
