Suzanne Acord received a “Pearl Harbor: History, Memory and Memorial” scholarship from the National Endowment for the Humanities of Honolulu, Hawai‘i in August of 2006.

Val Krohn-Ching was awarded the Outstanding Educator Award by the Alliance for Young Writers & Artists. The recognition is given for dedication, commitment, and guidance as three of her students’ art was selected for national honors.

Matthew Miller was awarded the Outstanding Educator Award by the Alliance for Young Writers & Artists. The recognition is given for dedication, commitment, and guidance as three of his students’ art was selected for national honors.

James Redmond was elected President of Hawaii Science Teachers Association in June of 2006.

James Redmond was elected to the National Science Teacher Association Congress Planning Committee by the National Science Teacher Association Congress.

John Southworth was awarded the 2006 Technology Industry Award by the state of Hawai‘i Pacific Technology Foundation for “significant and positive impact on the technology industry in our island community.”

John Southworth was awarded the Mayor’s Award of Recognition by the City and County of Honolulu upon being named a 2006 Top 50 High Tech Leader by the Pacific Technology Foundation and Technology News Network.

William Teter was awarded two Honorable Mentions in the 2006 Honolulu Magazine Annual Fiction Contest.

William Teter received a Summer Institutes for School Teachers Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Humanities to study James Joyce at Connecticut College.
