We are always looking for ways to improve in anything that we do. There is always room for growth, but sometimes we don’t know where to start.
I came across an article that shared 10 ways to improve your career in 10 minutes or less during the quarantine. It made me realize that you don’t need to make a dramatic change to improve your career. All you need is the motivation and drive to improve.
Here are some ways to improve your career, with or without quarantine:
Plan your day
Your schedule for working remotely and working in the office are probably different. Who cares? Planning your day can help you map out what you need to get done. Paying attention to those meetings and deadlines will allow you to find time to do other things like working out, running errands, or going for a swim.
Helpful ways to keep track of your days:
- Calendar App
- Bullet Journals
- To Do Lists
- Reminders App
Set goals for yourself
Create goals and set key performance indicators for yourself and make a plan to achieve them. If you have a large goal, create smaller goals to help you reach them. These goals can help you keep yourself motivated and accountable in your career.
Read Industry News
There’s always something new to learn! Reading industry news or other industry resources keep you up to date with important information and gives you an opportunity to learn more about it.
Learn new skills
Find skills that can help you in your field of work. There are many online resources available that teach classes or workshops on specific skills that can help your career. If you don’t want to learn online, find in-person classes or find a friend that can help you learn this skill. Reach out to specific people that you might want to learn from.

Get feedback on your resume
The first thing a company sees from you is your resume. You want to make a good first impression on that sheet of paper to help you get an interview or job. Get feedback from mentors or peers to make sure you give out the best resume you can! (P.S. We help out with resume writing too!)
