6.       [LINGUISTICS] Demonstrate an understanding of phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics through analysis of words, phrases, and clauses from authentic Chinese samples.

7.       [LITERATURE & CULTURE] Identify and describe major authors, works, features, forms, and styles of Chinese literature, both premodern and modern.

We targeted all of our SLOs and tried to assess how well our students were meeting them.

We used exit survey to graduating majors. We also asked the students to take an Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI).

Out of 19 graduating majors, 9 students responded to the Exit Survey. 14 students took OPI.

We plan to have a meeting to discuss use of the results with the assistance from the assessment office by the end of Fall 2013 semester.

We can collaboratively discuss the curriculum map in light of our results to see whether we provide sufficient learning opportunities for our students.
