The Department of Electrical Engineering adheres to the student learning outcomes of the Graduate Division:

The EE Department adopted the assessment questionnaire in September 2011 at the first Department Faculty meeting in Fall 2011. From September 2011 onward, the assessment will be carried out at every critical point in a graduate student’s career (qualifying exam, comprehensive exam, defense, thesis submission). So far, only one student went though the assessment at a PhD qualifying exam stage. We expect more data to become available towards the end of the semester.

Only one student was evaluated in this time period. Since this is a statistically insignificant number, we did not base our report on this one sample.

The EE Department has still not gone through a single cycle of data analysis, so we cannot answer this question. The analysis will become available in June 2012.

The EE graduate program adopted an assessment plan in September 2011. Until now, only one student (a PhD student who took the qualifying exam in September 2011) was assessed using the adopted rubric assessment sheet. We will likely have more assessment reports by June 2012, and will be able to analyze the data for the next review cycle, next year.
