8) Briefly explain the assessment activities that took place.
1. Students who graduate are sent a survey to complete. They are asked to give detailed feedback about their experience in our program.
2. Graduate chair uses mandatory advising to ask for feedback, raise issues, and propose some tailored improvement.
3. Graduate faculty meetings discussed implementations of a different testing system (have the written comprehensive exams followed by an oral interview, for instance).
4. Discussions are under way about the creation of a graduate seminar focusing on language improvement and research methodologies.

15) Please briefly describe how the program used the results.
We created two new graduate seminars: one in Francophone cultural studies, which is a "trendy" topic in our field and which resulted in several students deciding to pursue a Ph.D. in that field, and another one in translation theory and practice, which prepares students for the interpreting job market and received very positive feedback.
16) Beyond the results, were there additional conclusions or discoveries? This can include insights about assessment procedures, teaching and learning, and great achievements regarding program assessment in this reporting period.
We are in the process of changing the training received by teaching assistants, to make sure that their classes at the beginner's level are all taught solely in French. We also now have a more professional-oriented stream, allowing students who want to become translators to take more translation classes and fewer literature ones.
