8) Briefly explain the assessment activities that took place.
In every course offered, the instructor evaluates/assesses student performance before assigning a final grade to the student in question. Both graduate students and faculty members assess the oral presentations of a sample of seniors at the conclusion of the capstone course. Students majoring in philosophy also engage in self-assessment both of their own work and also of the department's offerings just before they graduate.

We now have approximately forty majors in the undergraduate philosophy program. Each year we have about 8-10 seniors graduating as majors.

Ater looking at the results, we determined that no significant changes were needed.

The Undergraduate Committee discussed the need for revamping and revatilizing the Philosophy club called Lounge Hour. Changes initiated.
