Au’a Exhibition

The exhibition Au‘a, an installation by artist Kapulani Landgraf will be on view at Honolulu Museum of Art (HoMA), Gallery 12, from January 17 – September 15, 2024.

There will be eight public programs organized to complement the installation from February to August 2024, at HoMA. The museum will offer FREE admission to all Kamaʻāina (residents) of Hawaiʻi for these special programs scheduled on the 3rd Sunday of the month. We invite you to spend time viewing the exhibition and the museum galleries. Please see the attached flier. 

To commemorate Sovereignty Sunday, July 28, 2024, HoMA is offering free museum admission to all Hawaiʻi residents on this day. Museum admission will also be free on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, in recognition of Lā Hoʻihoʻi Ea (Sovereignty Restoration Day).

We are organizing additional activities for Sunday, August 18, 2024, not currently listed on the flyer. Information will be provided at a later date.

A final program will be held at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa’s Art Auditorium on Thursday, September 5, 2024, from 5:30 – 7:00pm. It will be free and open to the public. Parking information here.

NOTE: For other days not listed on our flyer or “Quick View” below, regular museum admission charge for Hawaiʻi residents is $10 per person over 18 yrs. Hawaiʻi residents 18 yrs and under are free. The museum suggests you book your visit in advance.

Monday – Tuesday, CLOSED

Wednesday – Thursday, 10 am – 6 pm

Friday – Saturday, 10 am – 9 pm

Parking

• Some street parking is available in the surrounding area

• Museum parking is available behind the HoMA School, 111 Victoria St.; $5 for first 5 hours. $2 for every additional 30 minutes. CASH ONLY

Teachers/Educators – For information about scheduling a class visit. Resources and information for booking a self-guided tour can be found at: https://honolulumuseum.org/student-visits/. A self-guided visit can be booked for a maximum number of 30 students and 5 chaperones. Please note grades K–5 require one chaperone per 10 students and sixth grade and up requires one chaperone per 15 students. 

If you prefer a self-guided tour outside the usual booking times, please let the museum  staff know by using the link above and they will be happy to accommodate your group. The education staff will gladly meet your group at the main entrance to welcome you to the museum, just let them know the date and time you have booked a tour.
