Eligibility Requirements
1. You are an undergraduate student who is pursuing their first Bachelor's Degree and is enrolled or accepted at UH Mānoa,
AND
2. You are a citizen or national of the United States, or meet the residency requirements to apply for Free Application for Free Student Aid (FAFSA)
- The residency requirement includes American Samoa, Guam, the Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Palau, and Northern Marianas Island students
- Or you possess a Permanent Resident Card (aka Green Card)
AND
3. You are a first-generation college student
- This means neither of your parents completed a bachelor's degree. If a parent has earned an associate's degree, you are still considered first-generation,
AND/OR
4. Your family's taxable income OR your taxable income (if you are an independent financial aid student) meets U.S. Department of Education income criteria.
You must meet requirements 1 and 2, and can meet either 3 or 4. If you are uncertain about whether you are eligible, or have any questions, we encourage you to apply and talk to a TRIO Mānoa academic advisor.
