European Journal of Korean Studies on the Web

The Papers of the British Association for Korean Studies have become the European Journal of Korean Studies. Founded in 1991, the BAKS Papers have been a repository for academic work on the Korean Peninsula produced in the United Kingdom. The publication continues to be sponsored by the British Association for Korean Studies and is funded by a grant from the Academy of Korean Studies.

In its new form, the journal “aims to be the leading peer reviewed, citation indexed outlet for academic output in Europe in the English language,” according to its publishers.

The European Journal of Korean Studies now has a new home on line at www.ejks.org.uk. This new website will contain an entire archive of all
previous issues and articles from both The Papers of the British Association for Korean Studies and the European Journal of Korean Studies dating back to 1991. For the first time, all issues and articles will be available individually for download and purchase in one place.

The journal’s editors have issued a call for papers for volume 19 (2019-2010). Research articles and book reviews are invited in any academic discipline as it relates to Korea. Research articles must be in the English language and no longer than 12,000 words (not including endnotes).

The deadline for submission to volume 19, no. 1 (autumn 2019) is May 15, 2019. Contributions received by October 15, 2019, will be considered for volume 19, no. 2 (spring 2020).
