Abstracts:

Dr. Jaehyup Lee's book examines how Korean immigrants have entered the legal profession amidst political and economic changes in Hawaii, and how ethnic, regional, and professional identities intertwine and play out in their lives. Through interviews with first-, second-, and third-generation Korean American lawyers, the author explores their educational and professional experiences, perceptions of identity, relationships with individuals of different races or ethnicities, and connections with mainstream and diasporic communities. The study of Korean American lawyers in Hawaii is a significant case study that showcases the regional and professional diversity within the Korean American community today.
