Hi Fan,
Do we know when pde3 will be updated with our 2nd portfolio status?
Thanks,
Ileta
I don't mean to nitpick but there is a typo in the binder (but not on the website document). Table 1.4 Caption should have Facts and Laws not Opinion...etc. I haven't done the lesson yet so can not write a review. Is it possible to find the student worksheet questions? I found the tables but I may have to use scissors and glue (?!) to cut and paste the Lesson Procudures and Questions together. The activity looks much more organized on the website than in our binders.
I would recommend this activity. It is a fun hands on lesson that integrates science and art - perfect for my class as that is what I teach. I definately recommend getting real fish - it is more engaging than using rubber fish and there can be alot more detail that gets picked up on the prints. The paint does tend to dry quickly, so you may want to add a little water... It would also be good to prep with pictures of different fish in different areas of the ocean to discuss various forms (and functions). Enjoy a fun and engaging lesson.
Here it is - we'll see how it goes. I'm a little nervous as the last language-based, metacognitive lesson crashed and burned. Also attached is the worksheet students will complete in the lesson.
For some reason I can't find the teacher text or the text that we have in our binders with the answers. Is it only in the binder or can it be found online?
I am excited to try re-teaching evolution with this activity focused on the micro aspect which will be easier for some of the students to swallow. Macro evolution was very difficult for me to teach at all due to so much resistance from personal belief systems.
I am posting both of these since I will be doing both this week.
