CONGRATULATIONS to Haunani-Kay Trask who was awarded the 2019 Angela Y. Davis award for this yearʻs American Studies Association!

The Angela Y. Davis Award for the Public Scholarship recognizes scholars who have applied or used their scholarship for the “public good.” This includes work that explicitly aims to educate the lay public, influence policies, or in other ways seeks to address inequalities in imaginative, practical, and applicable forms. The 2019 prizewinner is Haunani-Kay Trask,professor emerita, University of Hawaiʻi at Manoa.

The Awards Ceremony will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2019, 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., in the Hawaiʻi Convention Center, Ala Hala Wai Foyer, with champagne and non-alcoholic beverages available to toast and cheer this yearʻs fantastic award winners!
