Rumi Yoshida had the pleasure of joining the staff at the American Studies Program in 2014. Born in Japan, raised in Thailand and partially schooled in the United Kingdom, Rumi has had extensive experience living and traveling abroad from a very young age. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and also holds a Master of Arts degree in Global Leadership and Sustainability from Hawaiʻi Pacific University.
In her current position as Graduate Program Coordinator, she is the primary point of contact for both our MA and PhD programs. She is also responsible for overseeing the admission process, matriculation forms, and graduate requirements for all graduate students in the department in coordination with the Office of Graduate Education. One of the best parts of her job is working with our graduate students – to be part of the lives of so many wonderful young people, and to help them further their education. She looks forward to discussing our graduate programs, the admission process, and our campus in general with you very soon!
