Gabbi C. K. Lee (Kanaka ʻŌiwi) is a doctoral student from Kailua, Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi. She graduated from Kamehameha Schools Kapālama and then attended New York University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Linguistics. She earned her Master of Arts in Teaching as part of the Museum Education Program at the George Washington University. Prior to returning home to Hawaiʻi, she worked as an educator at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C. for three years. While there, she provided interpretive experiences such as gallery tours, school programs, and specialty public programming for museum visitors. As a student at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, she is interested in exploring material and visual culture, art interpretation, education, and Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander representation in museums.
