Thursday, June 25, 202012-1 pm: Richard Morrison on Scholarly Publishing NowThis public talk will address some of the general trends in scholarly publishing as well as some of the “dos” and “don’ts” of approaching publishers about your work. Q&A open to graduate students in the UHM English Department & by permission to others at early points in careers involving academic publishing.

Richard Morrison is the Editorial Director at Fordham University Press. He began his career in university press publishing in 1993 at Duke University Press. In 1999, he took the position of Humanities Editor at the University of Minnesota Press and later served as its Editorial Director until 2014 when he joined the staff at Fordham. Over the years he has acquired hundreds of books across the humanities and social sciences, focusing on interdisciplinary scholarship in gender and sexulity, critical race and ethnic studies, literary and cultural theory, religion and theology, art, visual culture and other areas.
