MPA Strives to provide the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa student body with available and resourceful Peer Advisors who will guide the students through all stages in their college careers.
The University of Hawai’i at Mānoa successfully trained its first cohort of Mānoa Peer Advisors (MPAs) in 2010. MPA is a prestigious and elite group of students trained to help their peers navigate college. It consists of a Summer Training Program and a year-round MPA student employment. The program is overseen by professional advisors and is spearheaded by trained undergraduate Peer Advisor Leaders (PALs).
The Summer Training Program is the first step in becoming an MPA. Normally, it requires students to complete a five-week, six-hour course of intensive training that develops knowledgeable, resourceful and helpful advisors. The course spans during the duration of Summer Session I. Selected MPAs will then continue into the year-round MPA Fellowship.
