“I am pleased to be a part of the Protecting Life research study, because of its benevolent purpose of reducing COVID-19 on our beautiful Pacific island of Guam. As a Pacific Islander, I was alarmed at the large number of COVID-19 associated morbidity and mortality rates of fellow Pacific Islanders. It is important for us to be aware of the ramifications, so that we can try to reduce the numbers. I feel this study is a positive step in that direction. Si Yu’os Ma’ase’ for the opportunity to be a part of an instrumental study that will certainly make an impact.”

“I joined the Puipuia le Ola research study because I want to make a difference in my community. Being a study participant is an easy way I can do that, because I am helping to contribute to new knowledge and data on COVID-19 infection rates in Hawaii. Participating in studies like this is one way to help fight back against COVID-19, because only by understanding how and why infection rates are so high among Pacific Islanders, can we learn how to do something about it.”
